G.A. Everett

I didn’t initially grow up wanting to be a writer. I grew up wanting to be the guitarist and singer of a punk rock band. Unfortunately, I was terrible at guitar and couldn’t sing to save my life. I did love to read, though. Reading, for me, was always a thoroughly enjoyable pastime, along with music, video games, film and theatre, in which I could escape from my everyday life to go on adventures, uncover crimes, slay dragons, or fall in love, if just for a moment. Having gobbled up every book I could, I eventually studied a degree in English Literature, during which my love of writing really grew.

I pursued writing into a career in communications, working mostly in technology. Problem was I’d been bitten by that writing bug during my degree and it just wouldn’t let go.

It took me a little while to finish my first novel. But I did it … eventually. The second one came soon after. Now I spend as much of my time as I can writing fiction. And yes, I still listen to many of the same punk rock albums I was listening to through the late nineties and early 2000s.

I write speculative fiction of all kinds. My debut novel Artificial is the first in a futuristic science fiction thriller series that plunges you into a world of artificial intelligence, corruption and rebellion. If you like your adventures a bit more fantastical, then check out my novel Downfall, which features an engaging sword and sorcery fantasy world, filled with battles, backstabbing and morally ambiguous characters aplenty.
